Something We Bumbld Into

Late October, 2020 Sara and her friend, Isa were nonchalantly swiping through the Bumble dating app. Sara stated that all of these men were immature, so as all good girlfriends do, Isa took Sara's phone to refine the settings and raised the age range by a few more years. After a few more left swipes, Sara's thumb froze over the screen. It were those big blue eyes that made her swipe right.

The Week of 3 Dates

The following week Sara was sitting alone at Hot L Coffee in Austin, TX. Laptop open with a flashing cursor in the middle of a script she said she'd have finished years ago when a welcome distraction appeared. A message from Gerard, asking her to coffee. Upon finding out that she was only minutes away, he grabbed his jacket and headed out the door. 10 minutes later, Gerard and Sara locked eyes.

After a lovely couple hours of talking, shyly sharing interests, and getting to know each other, the date ended with Sara explaining she would be leaving in 3 days back to Florida for an unknown amount of time. Faced with that, Gerard did the only thing that made sense to do. He proceeded to ask her out the next night to dinner and the following night to a drive in movie.

3 Dates, 3 Days followed by 3 months apart. The little moments from those dates kept them going like a stubborn flame through a storm. They used the time apart to get to know each other and in the end it only brought them closer together when their magical 4th date happened in Philly on a covid New Years Eve.

A Moment of Paramount Importance

On November 7th, 2023 Gerard had a very special surprise for Sara on her birthday. You've all heard the story, seen the pictures, but the Paramount Theater is special. It holds such a sweet place in Sara's heart and with their shared love for the cinema, there was no other way to propose. Sara's face lit up like the marquee itself when he asked her to marry him. This will forever be one of the happiest moments of their lives.
